On June 14–15, 2026, Dan On Foundation organized the Summer Trip Phan Thiet 2026 program for 50 children from Tinh Me 2 Shelter Home. The initiative was designed to provide the children with a meaningful summer experience through hands-on learning, life skills development, and opportunities to explore the world beyond their daily environment.
Learning from Nature and Protecting the Environment
The first day of the trip took place on the beautiful beaches of Phan Thiet, where the children participated in a variety of outdoor activities, including beach soccer, volleyball, team-building games, and cultural performances. These activities not only encouraged physical exercise and teamwork but also created memorable moments of joy and friendship.
In addition to recreational activities, Dan On Foundation incorporated environmental education into the program through beach clean-up and waste-sorting activities. The children learned about the impact of litter on marine ecosystems and were encouraged to develop responsible habits such as disposing of waste properly and helping to protect the natural environment. Through these simple yet meaningful activities, they gained a better understanding of the importance of preserving our oceans for future generations.
Experiencing History Beyond the Classroom and Exploring Local Culture
On the second day of the trip, the group visited Duc Thanh School, a historic site closely associated with the period when President Ho Chi Minh taught there before embarking on his journey to seek national independence. Through guided tours and engaging historical stories, the children were able to learn about Vietnam’s history in a more vivid and meaningful way, while gaining a deeper appreciation for the values of education, perseverance, and determination.
To conclude the journey, the children had the opportunity to experience the local culture through Phan Thiet’s traditional cuisine at the city’s local market. Beyond enjoying regional specialties, the activity allowed them to learn more about the daily life, culture, and unique heritage of this coastal community.
Creating Meaningful Memories
For many of the children, this was their first opportunity to travel with friends, spend time at the beach, visit historical landmarks, and experience new places outside their everyday routines. Their smiles, excitement, and enthusiasm throughout the trip served as a powerful reminder of the positive impact that meaningful experiences can have on a child’s development.
